Political education is one of the priority campaigns for the TUC Young Workers Forum (along with pay and organising young workers). As part of the campaign, the forum is involved in supporting a Voter Registration Drive to increase the number of 18-34 year olds registered to vote.
With a General Election in 2015 the Youth Committee is very keen to encourage young members to register to vote and to actually vote.
It is a known fact that Governments tend to listen more to those demographics that tend to vote (historically the older generations). It is therefore vital that young members and young people in general are encouraged to take up their right to vote. It could make all the difference in May 2015.
